Riverside Brass Quintet

Riverside Brass Quintet

Riverside Brass CD

The Riverside Brass Quintet brings to the Upper Midwest a joyful presentation of brass music at its best.  The members of this group have banded together for the express purpose of having  fun making music and bringing as much of that fun and joyful expression to their audience as they can.

Music in the 21st century defies labels so suffice to say that you will hear a wide variety of music from this group.  They all have a musical background that permit them to present classical, folk, jazz, and music from other cultures.  The players are all connected with music education and desire to bring not only the art of the sound but some understanding of the music presented.  They also want to make sure that you get to know them as people, not just as performers, so their presentation includes explanations of the music and their feelings about what they are performing.  The idea is for the audience to get a presentation that speaks to everyone in as many ways as possible.

The members of the RBQ all reside within shouting distance of the Mississippi River with a couple tributaries thrown in for good measure.  Hence the name of the group.  In addition, they are all within stones throw (or maybe a nine iron) of Lake Wobegon.
